
Denise E. Ard is available for various types of commissions and freelance work.
Born in Illinois, Denise moved to Oak Park, Illinois, in 1977 with her parents. She has been producing artwork in various media since childhood and began taking photography and general art classes in high school. In college, she studied drawing, painting, photography, and art history, including a year of college studies at Salford University near Manchester in England. She graduated from Chicago’s North Park University with a BA in Literature and Art in 1989. In 1992 she received a masters degree in Library Science from Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois. She studied graphic arts production at Triton College in River Grove, Illinois.
Since 1990, Denise has exhibited her drawings, paintings, and photographs in art galleries and cafés throughout the Chicagoland area. She continues to be interested in many forms of artistic expression, taking classes at the Oak Park Art League, as well as other venues in and around Chicago on subject matters as varied as stained glass art, colored-pencil drawing, Iconography, and belly dancing.
In February of 2007 Denise visited the Holy Land (Israel and Palestine) and upon return, produced a photographic DVD of her experience.
Denise is a member of the Chicago Artists’ Coalition.
